What every tier includes
The tiers differ in project size and number of revisions. The estimate itself is the same at every level:
- Line items by CSI division, Division 01 through 33, each with quantity, unit, unit cost and total
- Overhead and profit, contingency, and bond and insurance as separate lines you can adjust
- Assumptions and exclusions written for your job
- A confidence range on the total, based on the comparable bids the estimate was priced against
- A formatted PDF and an editable spreadsheet, delivered by email
- Review and sign-off by a working estimator before release

Which tier do I pick?
Pick the tier that matches what you expect the project to cost to build, not the size of the plan set. A $400K remodel is a Builder estimate. A $1.2M tenant improvement is a General Contractor estimate.
If the plans show a project materially larger than the tier you chose, we email you before we continue. You can pay the difference by Stripe invoice to move up a tier, or cancel for a full refund.
Turnaround
We aim to confirm your files within one business day of payment. The clock starts then:
- Standard: within 3 business days after file confirmation, at no extra charge
- Rush: within 24 hours after file confirmation, for a flat $149
If we miss a rush deadline for reasons within our control, we refund the $149. If we need more information, we email you and the clock pauses until you reply. If your bid is due within two business days, email support@datumestimation.com before you order.
Revisions
A revision is a change to the delivered estimate for the same project and scope: updated quantities, pricing an alternate, or adjusting an assumption. Request it by replying to your delivery email within 30 days. A new drawing set or a substantially changed scope is a new estimate.
Refunds
- Cancel before we confirm your files: full refund.
- We can't estimate from the files you sent, and you can't provide what's missing: full refund.
- Once takeoff has started, the estimate fee is non-refundable. If you're unhappy with the result, email us and we'll use your revisions to make it right.
Prices are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe, which emails you a receipt. Full details are in the Terms of Service.
What an estimate is, and isn't
Every estimate is an opinion of probable cost, based on the documents you send and market data at the time it's prepared. It is not a bid or a guaranteed price, and its pricing is valid for 30 days. Use it to build your own bid, and check it against the contract documents before you rely on it.
